The heart of this proposal is the intent to retain the original proportions conceived for this site
The culturally significant Flinders Street Station building is a historical Melbourne landmark which was never completed to the original design intent conceived by Fawcett and Ashworth.
The design philosophy results in a concept that is unique yet firmly rooted in the site’s heritage context.
Our design proposal enhances the pedestrian-friendly civic precinct, through the creation of significant linkages referencing key nodes and creating a new rapport with Federation Square.
Contemporary architectural language is employed to sensitively reference the missing portion of the Swanston Street elevation.
